Possibly finished, highly-textured blue abstract for A.D.

The sides are a dark, dark blue.

When sunlight hits the painting, the blues brighten and the texture is revealed.

What a week! (plus pictures in abundance)

I don't usually do diary-style narratives, but this has been one exciting week. Here are some events of note:

Sunday morning started with a studio tour arranged for friends who wanted to choose their art in person. Here are some pics of the setup:

Dawn and Josh--note that your birthday gift,  "Aloysius" the Aloe plant, is still thriving as a studio mascot. :)
Wednesday morning, I found out that my original painting in the "indigo series" was featured by Better Home and Gardens on their website, specifically in an article by Joni Lay on applying the saturated indigo trend to nursery decor:  http://www.bhg.com/blogs/better-homes-and-gardens-style-blog/2013/08/13/get-the-look-indigo-and-dip-dye/

Wednesday afternoon:  Two major orders came in, so all that evening and the next morning I set up the packing room and built boxes and custom cut planks of pink construction foam to cushion the paintings.

Wednesday evening:  I heard back from a client who may be purchasing one of "indigo series" in a multi-canvas option, roughly six feet long and four  feet high. (With separate canvases, it is less pricey to ship such a large piece.)

Thursday evening
A 3ft. X 4ft. commissioned "indigo series" painting traveled safely across the country and is now in its new home. Here is a picture of it in situ (with permission of my client). I think it looks lovely there.

I intend to round the week off by actually painting again, working on two additional "indigo series" commissions for family members as well as a knife painting triptych. :)
